Pro Deo Youth Center to Break Ground on New Teen Center in Lee’s Summit
LEE’S SUMMIT, MO - March 24, 2026 - Pro Deo Youth Center, a cornerstone of support for local adolescents for over 15 years, is officially breaking ground on a new facility designed to meet the evolving needs of the community’s youth.
The community is invited to celebrate this milestone on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the future site of the center, located at 902 SE Douglas, Lee’s Summit, MO.
Expanding Capacity and Care
As teen attendance continues to climb, Pro Deo’s current location has reached its limits. The new building called the Wesley Place will double the capacity, which will expand the safe-space footprint to serve nearly 90 teens simultaneously.
Unique Partnership
The Wesley Place will have dedicated private therapy and counseling rooms in partnership with ReDiscover to address the rising demand for youth mental health services.
A Vision Brought to Life
“This new center represents far more than just a building,” says Dr. Elaine Metcalf, Pro Deo Executive Director. “It’s a place of hope, healing, and opportunity. We are building a sanctuary for teens who need a safe place to land and a community that believes in their potential.”
Event Details
The groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 2:15 pm and will include:
Remarks from Pro Deo leadership and local dignitaries.
Insights from project partners at Collins+Webb and Forge Construction.
A first look at the architectural renderings of the new facility.
