Groundbreaking Ceremony Postponed Due to Road Closures
[Lee’s Summit, MO] — Pro Deo Youth Center announced today that the groundbreaking
ceremony for the new Pro Deo Youth Center at the Wesley Place originally scheduled for
Tuesday, October 21, has been postponed indefinitely due to unexpected road closures with
limited access surrounding the event site at 902 SE Douglas.
“We were greatly looking forward to celebrating this milestone with our partners and community
members,” said Pro Deo Executive Director, Elaine Metcalf. “However, the safety and
accessibility of our guests is our top priority. With the temporary road closures affecting traffic
flow near the new site, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the ceremony.”
A new date for the groundbreaking event will be announced soon once road access is restored
and updated logistics can be confirmed. Pro Deo staff are uncertain of that timeline as of today.
Pro Deo Youth Center appreciates the community’s understanding and continued support as
preparations continue for this exciting new chapter in expanded programming activities to serve
more teens in grades 9 through 12.
